A Mysterious Q&A and a Legendary Icon — Why Barry Manilow’s Next Appearance Matters

Barry Manilow to Moderate Q&A at Plaza Theatre

Introduction

Barry Manilow to Lead Q&A at Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation Fundraiser

Music legend Barry Manilow will moderate a special Q&A following the screening of a rare film and video retrospective celebrating the career of music-industry powerhouse Clive Davis. The event is set for Friday, Oct. 3, at the Palm Springs Art Museum.

Hosted by the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation, the screening of “Do You Remember?” aims to raise funds for the ongoing renovation of the historic Plaza Theatre.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m., with the Manilow-hosted Q&A taking place immediately afterward. Tickets are priced at $75 for general admission and $150 for VIP access, which includes an exclusive post-event reception.

“We are honored to present this special screening in Palm Springs and share the life story of a man who has profoundly shaped the music industry,” said Kevin J. Corcoran, Vice President of the Plaza Theatre Foundation. “Clive’s legacy—as both an industry visionary and a humanitarian—deserves to be celebrated. This fundraiser is a collaborative effort with our partners at the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Annenberg Theater, and we deeply appreciate their support.”

“Do You Remember?” is a new, unreleased film spotlighting the music that defined entire generations—from Whitney Houston to Santana, Aretha Franklin to Alicia Keys, The Notorious B.I.G. to Barry Manilow—and the visionary who helped bring their work to the world. Produced by Mark Ronson and co-produced by Erich Bergen, the project offers a rare look at how Davis shaped modern music. It is not a traditional documentary, but rather a high-energy visual mixtape filled with chart-topping hits, music videos, and never-before-seen footage highlighting Davis’ extraordinary career.

The Palm Springs Art Museum, located at 101 Museum Drive, is hosting the event. Tickets are available through the museum’s website. Proceeds from the evening will support the restoration of the Plaza Theatre, which is scheduled to reopen in December 2025.
